Hi
Can someone please tell me why scientists chose to fuse CTLA4 with IgG? I see that there is also antiTNF receptor antibody fused to IgG.
what is the role of IgG in these cases?
Thanks

Fusing IgG increases the half life.
IgG portion acts primarily as a delivery and stabilization platform for the active therapeutic component (CTLA4 or TNF receptor), ensuring it lasts long enough in the body to work effectively, while its ability to trigger immune effector functions is deliberately controlled. Furthermore, this facilitates both ADCC (Ab dependent) & CDCC (complement dependent) cellular cytotoxicity.
