Chymotrypsin storage

Hi everyone

I’m starting to work with Chymotrypsin and have no idea how to keep working solution for long time. For example, i keep Trypsin in freezer at -80. But recommendation for Chymotrypsin solution is keeping for up to one week at +4C. But i cann’t spend all solution at the moment. Could you give advice how to keep aliquots for long time?

Thank you!

Chymotrypsin is more delicate than trypsin and tends to lose activity over time, especially in solution. You can prepare a stock solution and then aliquot it to smaller volumes. Prefer snap freezing in liquid nitrogen followed with -80C storage. Finally, when you are thawing the Chymotrypsin, use it at 4C instead of RT.
