Can Long-Term Antibiotic Use Affect Cell Behavior

I’ve been using antibiotics in culture to prevent contamination, but I’ve read they might alter gene expression and metabolism. Has anyone compared antibiotic-free vs. treated cultures to see if there are measurable biological effects??
