Were you able to figure out if there is a curated / non curated database of known set of Oncogenes and Proto-Oncogenes or Cancer Biomarkers ?

These are the sources we use and refer to.

COSMIC – Cancer Gene Census (CGC)

  • The most widely referenced catalog of experimentally validated cancer-driving genes.

  • Includes oncogenes, tumor suppressors, mutation types, functional annotations, and evidence levels.

OncoKB

  • A precision-oncology knowledge base curated by Memorial Sloan Kettering.

  • Classifies genes as oncogenes, tumor suppressors, and gives evidence levels for clinical actionability.

  • Strong clinical relevance.

An Update:

With our work, we are assuming that total tumor progression related gene number is going to be under 1000 with approx 350 to 400 belonging to each category of Oncogenes and Tumor Suppressor Genes. About 100 to 200 are expected to play dual role.
