Cancer Detection Using Digital PCR

Hi Everyone

Has anyone used Digital PCR for monitoring of residual disease in Cancer detection after the surgery? How does one detect and differentiate between the presence of residual Cancer cells after the surgery or Cancer Stem Cells from Normal healthy cells?

Any insights will be useful. Thanks in advance.

I don’t work in the lab, but I work in sales selling dPCR to scientists who use dPCR for MRD. You need to have specific mutation data from NGS and then use dPCR or cPCR(new technology) to find those mutations in nucleic acid extracted from serum. You can look into liquid biopsy studies for more info. ctDNA can be detected. Countable Labs just introduced a powerful new technology that exceeds dPCR in sensitivity by 10x. I do need to let you know that I work for Countable Labs, but previously worked for QIAGEN focusing on dPCR. Do you have any specific questions about using these advanced counting methods?
